Sinusitis and thermal treatments A common problem, causes and solutions
Many sinus infections are the consequence of inflammatory processes of the nasal passages (colds). The rhinitis, which then become complicated in sinusitis, are more frequently of a viral, bacterial and allergic nature.
These agents (viruses, bacteria or allergens) cause acute inflammation of the mucosa with accumulation of fluid, which impedes ventilation and drainage of the affected paranasal sinus. The stagnation of secretions favors the development of pathogenic germs.
Clinically the symptomatology of acute sinusitis consists of pain and local tension, intense serous or purulent rhinorrhea, fever.
