Inauguration of the "International Chair of Health Tourism, Thermal and Wellness" In Havana a new reality of technical-scientific value and excellence for America and the Caribbean
The Chair was proposed by FEMTEC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, the Cuban Society of Medical Hydrology, to respond to the constant growth trend of the sector, with concrete proposals to contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations in 2030.
The International Chair of Health, Spa and Wellness Tourism, unique in America and the Caribbean, was inaugurated in Havana on March 2, 2023 with the presence of the Vice Minister of Public Health, the Rector of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, the president of the Cuban Society of Medical Hydrology, representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, as well as Vice Presidents and members of Femtec.
Lectures by professors and experts of international level, began the first course. In an online inaugural conference, prof. Umberto Solimene emphasized the scientific-technical importance and the commitment of Femtec to contribute to a more sustainable, competitive, qualified development and with excellent services, increasing the positioning of the countries in the area as Health and Well-being destinations.
