1st International Congress "Health Resort-and-Spa Treatment" Moscow, Russia - March 18-19, 2015
The congress provided multidisciplinary approach to preventive treatment of socially significant diseases; occupational therapy; rehabilitation; climatotherapy; improvement of nation’s health status and quality of life by changing the structure and the potential of health resort treatment system of Russia.
It included interactive presentations of high-tech medical equipments, designed by leading global producers, topical exhibitions, seminars and workshops. The topics will encompass professional education and human resources.
This Congress is included in the plan of research and practice events, compiled by the Russian Health Ministry for 2015. With over 2,500 thermal establishments, 25 million attending patients, five treatment and clinical research facilities, Russia is preparing to valorize and renew this wealth of health care facilities according to an updated vision of its health system. This turned out from the introductory report of Ms. Tatiana Ivanova, Deputy Minister of Health in charge of the thermal sector, who described some of the fundamental principles of the current reform. Research, training, prevention, and rehabilitation were the main issues under discussion.
Over 1000 participants from different Russian thermal establishments present to the Forum, organized according to specialist sessions and master classes, highlighted the leadership role of the renewed Centre of Thermal Medicine of Moscow, managed by professor Marina Gerasimenko, in cooperation with FEMTEC. Professor Umberto Solimene, President of FEMTEC, held one of the introductory master lectures at the meeting, and ensured full cooperation of the Federation and the support of the WHO, represented by Luigi Migliorini, head of the WHO?s Russian offices.
The exhibition of specialist thermal equipment, the Master Class on Art-Therapy held at the National Academy of Fine Arts (Z. Tsereteli, G. Gigineisvhili), and the round table on the ?Thermae-SPA? relation (U. Solimene, N. Badalov) and on thermal technologies (G. Gurnari, P. Astakov) were highly appreciated.
