 75th FEMTEC General Assembly
and International Scientific Congress
Bran, Eden by the Mountain Romania
November 7th-10th, 2024
Between November 7th - 10th 2024, Romania hosted the 75th Annually General Assembly and International Scientific Congress of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy, FEMTEC. It took place in Bran, Brasov County, a climatic resort in the Carpathian Mountains.
Eleven form sixteen titulary members participated in person or by proxy: Spain, France, Italy, Nigeria, San Marino, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Romania, USA, China, Russian Federation.
At the Opening Ceremony participated invited guests: Mr. Kim Songchol, Head of “Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine Unit” of World Health Organisation (WHO) and Mrs. Natalia Ciobanu, the President of “Global Health Tourism Council”(GHTC).
They addressed to participants their best wishes for the success of Congress.
All the representatives addressed to the congress their hope to harness important achievements in professional, scientific and organizational activity.
The first session was dedicated to FEMTEC`s organisational life: history, statute modification, collaboration with WHO, and was opened with a presentation of FEMTEC presidents and their left mark on the development of FEMTEC. The current state of collaboration FEMTEC - WHO was analysed and presented to the members.
It was underlined the importance of clarifications of different terms used in different countries to describe the use of natural therapeutic factors: definitions, classification, education and training, patient monitoring and safety, etc. One paperwork was dedicated to the optimisation of statute`s articles.
The Managing and Executive Boards were gathered in common session to prepare and adopt the agenda for the General Assembly.
In the General Assembly the president presented the current state of association after the General Assembly in Ourese, Spain,in 2023: the tax certificate has been restored, the bank account has been recovered, the connexion with WHO has been re-established, fiscal duties have been paid, the transfer of the website on the name of association is ongoing, the General Secretary was appointed.
The statute modifications were voted by the General Assembly that empowered the president to register the new statute according to the Italian legal requirements.
The dinner was a moment of socialisation and relaxation after the full day intense activity.
The second day was entirely dedicated to scientific presentations of over 30 paperwork covering the field of congress` theme.
Before the traditional Gala Dinner the participants were invited by the management of Bran Museum to a guided tour of the historical castle.
The Gala Dinner gathered all participants to close 2024 Congress of FEMTEC. In recognition of involvement, engagement, and valuable contributions of participants to success, diplomas and awards were offered.
Up to the next annually General Assembly and Scientific Congress, new tasks and duties have to be accomplished to keep the focus on balneal medicine as modern science but ancient art of healing and philosophy.
