 International Chair of Health and Wellness Tourism in Havana named after Umberto Solimene

The World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy, FEMTEC, maintains excellent relationships with institutions dedicated to training, promotion and research in the field of health, spa and wellness tourism. Considering the importance of the development of this sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, in March 2023 the only “International Chair of Health and Wellness Tourism” was inaugurated, based in Havana, to provide a concrete response to the commitment to the development and innovation of scientific-technical specialties related to the sector with proposals to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by 2030.
Prof. Umberto Solimene inaugurated the Chair by offering an important online report and a renowned group of international experts, members and collaborators of Femtec participated in person by holding high-profile conferences, testifying to the importance of this international collaboration.
The Chair is a platform that generates value in the sector by seeking excellence, current training programs, health strategies, research projects, the introduction of digital technologies, collaborations with universities and institutions at an international level, the study of effective solutions, with a focus on the gender perspective and on the tools to stimulate innovation and sustainability.
To honor the work, dedication and professionalism of Prof. Umberto Solimene, the proposal to name the International Chair after him was unanimously approved by Femtec, with the presence of international collaborators. |
